چکیده

Motivated by various distributed control applications, we consider a linear system with Gaussian noise observed multiple sensors which transmit measurements over dynamic lossy network. We characterize the stationary optimal sensor scheduling policy for finite horizon, discounted, and long-term average cost problems show that value iteration algorithm converges to solution of problem. further suboptimal policies provided rolling horizon truncation also guarantee stability provide near-optimal cost. Lastly, qualitative characterizations multidimensional set measurement loss rates is stabilizable static network, thus extending earlier results on intermittent observations.

A joint modelling approach for multistate processes subject to resolution and under intermittent observations

Multistate processes provide a convenient framework when interest lies in characterising the transition intensities between a set of defined states. If, however, there is an unobserved event of interest (not known if and when the event occurs), which when it occurs stops future transitions in the multistate process from occurring, then drawing inference from the joint multistate and event proce...

Optimal two-sensor scheduling under duty cycle constraint

We consider periodic sensor scheduling in this paper. A system is observed by two sensors. The two sensors communicate their datawith a remote state estimator via a bandwidth-limited networkwhich allows only one sensor to send its data at each time. We derive the optimal duty cycle pair and a corresponding sensor data schedule to minimize the trace of the average estimation error covariance. Si...

Sensor Network Lifetime Maximization Via Sensor Energy Balancing: Construction and Optimal Scheduling of Sensor Trees

In this paper we consider state estimation carried over a sensor network. A fusion center forms a local multihop tree of sensors and fuses the data into a state estimate. A set of sensor trees with desired properties is constructed, and those sensor trees are scheduled in such a way that the network lifetime is maximized. The sensor tree construction and scheduling algorithms are shown to have ...

Adaptive workflow scheduling under resource allocation constraints and network dynamics

Workflow concepts are well suited for scenarios where many distributed entities work collaboratively together to achieve a common goal. Today, workflows are mostly used as computerized model for business processes executed in instances in commercial Workflow Management Systems. However, there are many other application domains where computersupported cooperative work can be captured and organiz...
